About Us

Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL)

In Gaza, the mass destruction of infrastructure, displacement of communities, and disruption of agriculture have severely impacted food security. Our Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) projects are crucial in this crisis, providing emergency food assistance to prevent hunger and malnutrition among vulnerable populations. Since the onset of this emergency, Youth Vision Society (YVS) has prioritised saving lives by focusing on food provision. We’ve established community kitchens delivering nutritious meals, distributed tens of thousands of food parcels to the most needy, and set up women’s food cooperatives.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

The provision of MHPSS is essential during armed conflict. In Gaza, where every individual has endured profound stress from direct violence, displacement, loss of loved ones, and the destruction of homes and infrastructure, our MHPSS program plays a vital role. It helps alleviate these psychological burdens by offering essential care and encouraging resilience among children, youth, and their caregivers.

Cash Assistance

Cash assistance stands as not only one of the most cost-effective and efficient methods to deliver aid during crises but also one of the most dignified forms of support we can offer. YVS has long been at the forefront, providing critical cash assistance to individuals and families in need, well before the current humanitarian crisis. Drawing on our extensive experience and expertise, we have maintained this vital support throughout the emergency in Gaza, ensuring that people can uphold their dignity amidst adversity.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

WASH projects are vital during humanitarian crises because they directly address essential human needs and play a critical role in disease prevention. In Gaza, where access to clean water and proper sanitation is severely disrupted, the risk of waterborne diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, and typhoid is heightened. By ensuring the provision of safe drinking water, adequate sanitation facilities, and promoting proper hygiene practices, WASH projects effectively mitigate these risks, safeguarding the health, well-being, and dignity of vulnerable populations.

Education

Education is not only a fundamental human right for every child and young person but also a crucial lifeline during conflict. In times of upheaval and unpredictability, ensuring access to education is crucial for nurturing stability, resilience, and hope. The ongoing conflict has tragically disrupted daily life for Gaza’s children, displacing nearly all and leaving them vulnerable to trauma and societal breakdown. By prioritising education, we not only provide a crucial sense of normalcy but also invest in the future of Gaza and its youth, equipping them with the skills and resilience needed to rebuild and thrive.
